Review ROPELESS Chalk and Brush 🇬🇧

Hi Guys

Today we will speak about another eco-friendly brand. If you are following this website, you have probably realized that I’m trying to be more eco-friendly and review products/brands with the same spirit.
So here we go, and this time I’d like to present a relatively new German brand calledRopeless.

“Ropeless has its roots in a small group of boulder enthusiasts, which was formed in the late 90ties around a German superb sandstone bouldering area, the „Süd Pfalz“. Everyone of these close friends is an expert in his trade. So we set out to create a brand we believe in, with products that reflect our commitment. That´s how we can supply you the best quality in your personal ropelessgear”

Basically, the main goal of this brand is to reduce plastic. And they do it very well by providing 100% plastic free chalk packaging. Even if it’s plastic free, they really thought about the packaging. The bag is solid, and you can very easily close it if you don’t use everything in one go. As you can imagine, I really like this spirit, and they also did a nice job regarding the packaging during the shipping process. Here again, no plastic ! You may think that make sense…. I agree, but I can also tell you that it’s not the case for all brands defined as eco-friendly for their products but using a crazy amount of stupid plastic during shipping, useless packaging…

Speaking about the chalk it-self, I don’t have much to say. It’s a 100% natural chalk. It’s efficient, no problem. But a natural chalk is a natural chalk and if you are used to a chalk where a chemical is added you will probably found it less efficient. But here everything is natural and for most people it’s enough. The price is also very friendly, so if you are looking for an everyday chalk, cheap and eco-friendly, it’s a very nice choice.

“ Premium dry rock climbing chalk which keeps your hands ultra dry and sticky. Filled with some nice big chunks made from 100% pure Magnesium Carbonate in a sustainable packaging. ropeless chunky chalk is packaged in a biodegradable craft paper package and is sustainable compared to a lot of the usual plastic zipper packaging “

They also offered me a brush. Unfortunately, I didn’t use it a lot. First because I only climb inside. And this brush is big ! In most climbing gyms, there are brushes available to use. So you usually only bring a small brush (toothbrush) with you if you bring one. But this brush is relatively big. So I don’t want to carry it in the gym.

BUT if you climb outside, I really think that this brush is amazing. In fact, the size is a big advantage here. The shape is very ergonomic and when you need to brush bigger slopers it’s perfect. The brush is made of wood and has 100% natural boar hair bristles.
A nice thing is also the add of an open opener on top of the brush. You go outside with your friends, you climb, you brush to clean after your session, and then you can open a nice beer to recover. If you climb outside, this brush is a must to have.

Overall, I really like the spirit of this eco-friendly / plastic free brand. They have nice products, with very attractive prices.
