Review Tacos by CRUX Climbing 🇬🇧

I have been trying this product since almost 4 months now. So this review is a deep review and not a “first impression” feedback.

Intro

I recently tried the Taco callus remover from CRUX Climbing and was impressed with its effectiveness. The curved design fits comfortably in your hands, and the coarse surface effectively removed calluses without damaging your skin.

As a dedicated climber, you know firsthand how important it is to take care of your hands. Climbing can be tough on your skin, especially if you’re doing it frequently or at a high level. Over time, the repetitive strain of gripping and pulling can lead to the development of calluses and even blisters.

This is where the Taco callus remover from CRUX Climbing comes in. By regularly using it to remove calluses, climbers can maintain healthy skin and prevent further damage. In addition to improving grip strength, healthy hands can also help to prevent injuries and extend your climbing session.

Fine or coarse ?

The Taco callus remover comes with two types of sandpaper: fine and coarse. The difference between the two is the grit size, which determines the level of abrasiveness. The fine sandpaper has a lower grit size and is ideal for smoothing out any rough areas on the skin’s surface. The coarse sandpaper has a higher grit size and is better suited for removing thicker calluses or dead skin.

When deciding which sandpaper to use with the Taco, it’s important to consider the severity of your calluses and the sensitivity of your skin. If you have more significant calluses or tougher skin, the coarse sandpaper may be necessary. However, if you have more delicate skin or just need to do some light maintenance, the fine sandpaper may be the better choice.

But luckily you have the opportunity to use both at the same time ! And this is amazing ! It’s also very easy to change/ remplace the sand paper when it’s too worn or if you want to change the layout. Indeed the taco is not symmetrical. You will probably need a little practice to find the combo that best entrusts your needs.

I appreciated how easy it was to use the Taco, and I could tell that it was made from high-quality materials that will withstand frequent use. Since using it, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my grip strength and overall hand health.

Even if you’re just starting out, it’s crucial to develop good hand care habits early on. By taking care of your hands from the beginning, you’ll be able to prevent calluses and blisters from becoming a problem in the first place. When I start climbing, I saw from time to time climbers sanding their fingers before/during a session. First u though it was only for experienced climber looking for more friction. So I was not doing it, and this was a HUGE mistake. Hand care isn’t just important for experienced climbers. Keep care of your skin, your level is not linked to skin damage.

You have probably already experienced this moment when you are on a trip with friends, or that you feel in your best shape and finally top the project your were working on since a few weeks at your local gym. But all of a sudden an enrome split appears and you are out for several days/weeks….frustrating isn’t it?

Conclusion

Overall, the Taco callus remover from CRUX Climbing is a must-have for any climber. It’s easy to use, effective, and will help you to maintain healthy hands so you can keep climbing for years/ sessions to come. Keep climbing hard for less than 10 bucks !
